The hospitality of the Moroccans – at least in the Anti-Atlas, where we have spent the past few weeks – is truly remarkable. Our tireless friend Aissa arranged our visit to the pottery and organised this visit as well. A video will follow later, so another visit to the blog may be worthwhile.

After a performance of traditional Berber folk dancing, a family invited us to lunch. There was a couscous tagine for all the dancers and musicians, with plenty of goat meat: a lavish meal and certainly not an everyday treat. Traditionally, the women ate in another room, a custom I cannot find much to admire in. What was remarkable, however, was how actively I was encouraged to take photographs – one young woman even showed us her private rooms.
