klassik garage kronberg / germany

It looks like this when big boys can realize their childhood dreams. Klaus flettner is not just collecting oldtimers, they often get rebuild from totally rusted carbodies.

There is a workshop (klassik garage kronberg) to restore those babies and even the vehicles of other oldtimer enthusiasts get well maintained there.

Why do I post this? Now, i do know klaus for many years and his passion for classic cars remembers me to andrew atwood in phoenix, who had restored his „tailfin“ with passion for about 7 years and had given it a new life. Some weeks ago i had taken photos of his „tailfin“ in the desert of arizona which will be published in the mercedes benz star magazine of america very soon. And of course here on my blog. Stay tuned….

the wooden boat “matthew turner”

People with visions who are working straight ahead to realize their visions inspire me again and again. here is one of those examples: in sausalito a small team of professionals build, together with many volunteers a more than 100feet tall sailboat according to old plans. Alan Olson is head of this project to rebuild the “Matthew Turner” as faithfully as possible. We were invited on a private tour at the shipyard, you’ll get the link to the project.

mud bog race in fort nelson / 1

What do Canadians when the permafrost has melted? right – mud bogging. This is the modern version of rodeos, however with significantly more horsepowers. the sound of the engines is equally respected here as the color of exhaust gases. Who wins here is not so important, the jamboree is what counts.
