flight and space museum / washington

There are even very strane rumors such as that the americans would not have been on the moon. So we went into the flight and space museum in washington and there was everything on display: from the saturn 5 jet engines up to the scroched apollo return capsule, from the moon landing ferry, where the astronauts just got out up to to the rocks, which they brought back as a souvenir. space suits were on display and even the space toilet. But than I had to go to the restroom and as always the doors shut with a gap that you could look to everybodies tonsils and instead of the usual proven hooks and eyes on the toilet doors, there was sliding mechanism installed. But this was broken on all doors. Actually the americans were never been to the moon, that’s for sure now… © ng

My first inspiration towards art came from my father. He drew cartoons and would sometimes exhibit his work. As a child I loved the book Where the Wild Things Are. After that, I would take inspiration from Science Fiction. I was fascinated by space creatures, aliens, monsters, goblins, and creatures from my dreams. Much of this was drawn from Omni magazine and MADD magazine, both of which I encountered through a High School art class. I continue to be inspired by Dadaism, Fantasy Art, and Surrealism. My style and inspiration have changed throughout my career.  Now I paint to express the things I have learned throughout my life illustrated by these Critters. I like to incorporate animals and humans as well as patterns and geometric shapes into my art. I have always been inspired by spiritual art, Buddhism, and Christianity. I also take inspiration from different cultural art such as Day of the Dead, aboriginal and tribal art, as well as Mardi Gras parades in South America and Mexico.  © Albert Schweizer

museum of natural history / nyc

The dinosaurs are still there, where we had seen them during our visit many years ago. however, the natural history museum had been upgraded in many areas. A spacey sphere was build in which movies about the cosmos are shown and many departments have now huge screens which show for example the geological history of the earth in many details. Some sites sound like a german building supplies store were also video-messages baaing from the all-over the installed screens.
