the redwood national park

a scenic drive through and a visit to the redwood national park / california

the lost coast

Highways are mostly boring and we often take lokal tracks – if it makes sense. The Bettina found a route to the “Lost Coast”, which sounded promising. One should ask to the local police about the road conditions and the road is generally not advised for camping vehicles, many switchbacks and bottlenecks. All those things that made us curious.

Ok, the shock absorbers have suffered a little but the track was great fun. Even the forgotten town of ferndale was worth the trip.

Now we have arrived in the redwood area of north california. you can only understand the goosebuts that I get in sight of the huge, majestic trees, if you have a size comparison in the image. Or is it only when you are among them in your diminutive size?

we had met joan and jürgen on a campground in virginia in 2014 and they invited us spontaneously to stay on their driveway , if we should come to oregon. it was great to see them again and it was great to spend a few days with these guys in portland. thanks joan, thanks jürgen for your hospitality and friendship. your „full board driveway“ is highly recommended ☺

davey cadaver / portland

Davey explains and describes his work:

Davey Cadaver is a self taught artist residing in the Pacific Northwest. He is an avid reader, writer, magician, musician, apophenist, and dream interpreter. He is also interested in spirit animals, extraterrestrials, and the use of shamanic and medicinal plants.
His current body of work centers around the self and questions the relationship between man and nature. Though Davey has shown his art in places across the world, his primary focus is exploration within. Through both research and hands on experience, Davey has captured the essence of a moment in time. He has incorporated organic elements such as coffee, tea, and walnut ink to connect the pieces further with the natural realm. Using his breath, seemingly random splatters transform and tell stories. He has planted the seeds, and now, the wind will carry them to those that are open to discovery.
