rené holm / berlin

René Holm is one of Denmark’s most established contemporary artists and has been shown for years at fairs from Miami, Basel and New York, many solo exhibitions at galleries in Denmark, Germany and France. Again and again Holm takes up existential Themes and locates Them in nature. Frequent Humans appears as themselves in Rene’ Holm’s paintings, sometimes however only by Human traces. The backdtop is often a slightly threatening Dark forest.

Quote from daniel lichterwaldt.

We were lucky enough to meet rené in his dependance in berlin and i hope to take a portrait of him at work on our next visit.

devils´s mountain / berlin

this mountain is the rubble hill of berlin and was piled up after the 2nd world war. the american military built a large listening facility on it, which is now a “lost place” and can be visited for an entrance fee. The large graffiti artworks are particularly interesting.

peter kohl / austria

Long time ago I had discovered peter kohl’s work on the internet and last I saw originals of him at the art karlsruhe.

He lives in carinthia and on a dirt road through the forest it goes up to the parental farm, which peter manages since the death of his father as a self-supporter and as a hobby on the side. His six duroc pigs are doing great, which you can taste in the salami.

To the astonishment – perhaps also to the horror – of his parents, he studied art and philosophy, and today he works on his political, humorous paintings infront of a spectacular mountain backdrop. peter began with realistic paintings and in the course of time he developed his unmistakable style with animal and phantasy figures, partly crotesque and caricature-like.
