here some impressions from seattle…
Gert Anklam recomended: “When you come to Seattle, say hello to Amy, she is a great musician,” and by the way, Gert is also a great saxophonist. Amy was packed with work but she still saved some time for a chat in her beautiful garden. She is a very (cosmo)political person and has already played in Frankfurt as part of the Blockupy movement. More from and about her here. … and: Thank you Gert, that you allow us using your music for our videos, – very generous. © B.G.
Almost 100 miles before we reached leavenworth, this small city was recommended to us because of it´s pork knuckles. The small town is the answer for all homesick bavarians. They had stapled boards to the walls to immitate studword houses and in the central square there is the white-blue maypole, – maybe all year round. By the way: the fairy tale „from a dish washer to a millionaire“ no longer can come true in america, plastic cutlery and paper plates have knocked this dream career on the head.
Hope is a small town on the shores of lake pend oreille, which comes alive during summer. Many americans have their summer residences in hope, so does sharon and gus kopriva. Sharon, the great artist from houston, had invited us to come and so we stood a few days in here back yard. Thank you sharon for your hospitality, and thank you that you have introduced us to your friends. great and we had a very nice time at your place and with you as well.
Which artist has designed this place as a summer residence? A little tip: he / she has already been presented in one of my blog posts. The first person who sends me the correct name (just click on comment) gets an extra blog contribution.
Jeff hughart was born and raised in southern california. For a long time he lived in san francisco and tokyo and encouraged by his girl friend (also an artist) he began to paint in 2002. His images are often raw, emotional, colorful and full of energy. Influences probably from his punk rock past, as he himself says, and inspired by artists such as basquiat, sesow and others.
Jeff works and lives in bonners ferry, idaho, and his art can be found by collectors worldwide.
