Don´t miss the “sopapu arch” trail, this is great one. You step down to the canyon on log ladders, you will pass magnificent rock walls and walk through a bizarre landscape. And visit the „awachomo arch“ at night to get it together with the milky way.
Here i’ll tell you one of our secret travel tips: there is a “primitive campsite” on the hall’s creek overlook and the entire infrastructure are two tables which somebody had hauled to this place. You can reach this is overlook with 4×4 vehicles and high clearance only that means: you are alone! … And when there is no moon, then ist’s particularly great. No artificial light, no noise. That´s heaven. Almost the same as in the devil’s garden …

you have to use an off road track to get there: „devil´s garden“ on the „hole in the rock road“ / utah.
A still relatively young national park, however one of the largest. President Clinton signed 1996 to protect this vast area (6800 square kilometers) between bryce, capitol reef and glen canyon. The area is touristy not yet developed and so many areas can be reached only via”dirt roads” which become impassable after havy rainfalls. Especially the “slot canyons” can fill quickly with thunderous water. The lack of infrastructure makes the experience of nature more intense, especially because there are overnight stay permits available. And so i was able to take a picture from the “groswenor arch” at night.
For the famous “wave” we hadn´t got a permit. You can get it via a lottery (only 10 perimits a day) we tried it on two days but we failed twice.
